Since it is Christmas...

I guess I will catch up on some pictures of the kids!!!

It is a heck of a lot easier to do posts about things like music and Edward Cullen and stuff like that because I do not have to include a lot of pictures that take forever to upload. Plus, I have been temporarily pictureless because my external hard drive with all my pictures on it went kaput... or however you spell that... but they were able to retrieve the photos thank goodness, but I had to wait for all that to get done by Geek Squad. Anyway... the point is, in the spirit of Christmas I am going to try to catch up on some much overdue Christmas pictures!

So, here are some pictures from A Christmas Carol. We went to Theater Charlotte's production of A Christmas Carol. They had a fund raiser where you won 10 tickets (front row, which is good for the kids) and cookies and pictures with Santa on the stage afterward. The tickets are normally $10 for kids $20 for adult, and since no one bid enough on them I got them for a steal. Levi was going to go with us, but our babysitter backed out last minute, so Katie, Sabina, Santi, and Colin went to make up for the 4 other tickets!

The show was great. The guy who played Scrooge and the guy who played Marley were AWESOME! The only problem was they did a 20 minute "build-up" before starting the play that made a little side story about a prop girl who wanted to be an actor that was very awkward and had no action to it, so I could see the kids getting antsy before the actual Christmas Carol part started! And that part was really pointless except to show off or something. I thought, "oh no! These kids are not going to sit through this". And it was billed as a family play, but we were the only ones with kids there except 2 others that looked to be 8-10 years old. But, as soon as they got to the actual story the kids were captivated and loved it! And of course the scary parts were right up Nolan's alley and made me grateful I sat by Lettie and Ruby so I could tell them it was all pretend.

Then Santa came out in the end and I recognized him as Judas in Godspell, which I thought was funny. He was not the best Santa in the world, but he had a little dog with him (that Lettie kept kissing right on his mouth) so that made up for it! Plus, it was the first time my Ethiopian kids have ever met Santa, so it gave them some time to take their time and talk to him rather than be shuffled through a line. I don't know where the cookies went though. I did not even see any, so I wonder if they forgot! And we never saw the pictures that were promised. And then they rushed us out because they were taking a cast promo pic. Which is fine, but I wish they would have told me. But the deal on the tickets was worth it and it was a great way to kick off the holiday season!

Here are the kids all dressed up and ready to go! The babies went going obviously! But they all wanted to be dressed up, so the boys wore their Ethiopian shirts and the girls wore their Ethiopian dresses! If you click on the picture it will enlarge and you can get a better look at the terrible expression on Ruby's face! It is hilarious!
Waiting for the show to start!

Colin and Silas and Silas' CONSTANTLY runny nose!

The group shot with Santa! Isn't that the cutest dog you have ever seen?
Ruby trying to rememeber what she wanted to tell Santa!
I love how nervous Colin and Santi look! He was a scary looking Santa! I mean he was Judas for Pete's sake ;)!
I love this picture! The classic kid cupping his hand to whisper into Santa's ear! And he looks SHOCKED!
I don't know what Nolan told Santa, but he looks concerned!
I took some individual shots of the kids in front of the Christmas tree! I really need to buy a exterior flash for this camera so these indoor shots will turn out better!
I forgot to format these pictures before uploading them... oops!

They were all so well-behaved and were truly mature patrons of the theater! I am so proud of them!
